Super Mario Galaxy is receiving incredible reviews across the Web. Famitsu already rated it as one of the top games of the ever, but is it?
According to Joystiq, it just passed up The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with the highest ratings ever from Game Rankings.
I know the Wii is absolutely dominant right now, and Mario is the mascot of the platform. Still, it’s hard to comprehend that the Mario storyline could outdo one as intricate as Ocarina of Time to take the top game title.
Is this a testament to how good Super Mario Galaxy is or how difficult it is to compare games based upon their review numbers through the years?

Just finished the main story and most of the side quests in Twilight Princess in about 55 hours of gameplay. I think it was one of the best Zelda games that I have played–definitely right up there with Ocarina of Time. Somehow, it still left me feeling a little unfulfilled. The game was unique in that the Wii control style makes it much more addictive and personal. The lack of a fairy this time was unique–instead you get a little imp from the shadow world. I didn’t like that couldn’t tap one button to get info about the creatures I was fighting. I wanted names and descriptions rather than just having to beat it down without the knowledge, but I got over that.
Overall, I think this was a great game. Huge world and definitely shows off the power of the Wiimote even using it a little bit. I am still waiting on my Xbox 360 to arrive, so I don’t yet have any non-Nintendo hardware to contend with the Wii.
I would definitely play through this game again. As far as rating, I give it about a tie with Ocarina of Time. The side quests are definitely more complicated this time around and more in-depth, which I liked. Many of them were hidden where as other games lead you to them knowing what the end result is. Those of you who have played it feel free to comment as well. I know many people thought it was lacking, but I think if you do all the side quests, it is definitely one of the best games out there.
